The test is based on an analysis of the phytotoxic effects of
contaminants in the germination phase of the seeds and in seedling development during the first 5 days of growth (120 h of exposure).
The novelty of this paper and its relevance to the international scientific
community stem from the fact that it presents findings which combine
pollution by trace elements and their speciation in the soil with assessment
of the potential risk of contaminant transfer to the food chain
through vegetables.
