3.3. Chromatography and tandem mass spectrometry
The optimum derivatization and extraction conditions were applied to the analysis of ิcyanide in surface by GC–MS/MS.
Fig. 5 shows the GC–MS/MS chromatograms after the derivatization of cyanide in surface water.
For the GC separation of the derivative, the use of a semi-polar stationary phase ฃ was found to be efficient.
The derivatives of cyanide showed a sharp peak, and the compound was quantified as an integration of the peak area.
The retention time of 2-(dimethylamino)ethyl thiocyanate is shown in Fig. 5.
