Companies started to emerge that demonstrated global success through adopting and applying excellent CSR practices. Examples of these are the Body Shop, Patagonia, Aveda etc. These companies enabled the public to purchase from companies that openly demonstrate their CSR practices. This resulted in the public demanding other companies to demonstrate and provide evidence that their CSR practices have been and are successful. Many in the public felt that companies have the same duties and obligations as people in society to demonstrate respect for society and the environment.
