In this work, we used activated sunflower seed hull as
adsorbent to remove Cr(VI) from aqueous solution. Four different
kinds of activated carbons were prepared by varying either the
impregnation ratio of ZnCl2/SSH or the activation temperature. We
will show that the activated carbons possessing high surface area
and large pore volume can be produced from SSH by ZnCl2
activation, which can be used as efficient adsorbents for Cr(VI)
removal with high efficiency and fast kinetics.
