Knowledge is a necessary condition for sufficiency economy philosophy to work. Within the framework of sufficiency economy philosophy, knowledge implies insight or wisdom. It encompasses both tacit and explicit knowledge, including experience as well as appropriate analytical ability. Theoretical knowledge should be used with caution at all times. This knowledge should reflect an appreciation of the effects of the diffuse influences associated with globalization, but should not lose sight of critical geo-social differences that are rooted in specific local conditions. A single universal formula applied everywhere is almost sure to fail.
