By using the proposed method, linear calibration curve was obtained in the range 0.857 – 12.0 μg ascorbic acid/cm3. The detection limit (three times the standard error of the intercept/slope), quantification limit (ten times the standard error of the intercept/slope), molar absorptivity (ε), as well as other analytical characteristics are summarized in Table I. The precision of the proposed method, expressed as relative standard deviation, for the determination of 8.0 μg/cm3 ascorbic acid, was 0.81 % (n = 7). The molar absorptivity calculated from the slope of the calibration graph shows that the proposed method is highly sensitive.
