The number of Russian tourists dropped 44% to 884,000 last year from 1.6 million in 2014 due to the historic devaluation of the rouble and Russia's faltering economy, Tourism Department figures show.
Thailand, however, remains among the top five destinations for Russian travellers. Their favourite destinations in Thailand are Pattaya and Phuket.
Thai Airways International ended service between Bangkok and Moscow last year, claiming the route was unprofitable.
