The results of the surge pressure following full-bore tuberupture
will be presented only for location 2 rupture scenario since
it was shown that this location produced the highest release rate
among all three locations identified in Fig. 6. The boundary conditions
(B.C.) at the farthest point of the upstream CW system is
assumed as constant pressure at the pump discharge location, since
the pumps are centrifugal type whose head variation with flow is
relatively small. A constant pressure boundary condition is
assumed at the cooling tower location, which is at 120maway from
the Battery limit as shown in Fig. 4. This boundary condition is
called B.C. scenario I, which reflects the existing plant conditions
