Compared to paper recording, additional barcode tag reading and RFID tag distribution steps were included in the package process with WFMTS. A further analysis on additional time consumption was performed. Most of the total time was spent on the step that involved scanning the QR Codes and attaching the RFID tags. Because a package bin usually holds six small packages, the time spent scanning six QR Codes was approximately 10 s for a trained operator. Writing the RFID tag took less time because the RFID tag printer performed this function with less intervention by the operator. The time spent attaching the RFID tag is in between that required to scan the QR Codes and write the RFID tag. Although only one label was attached to a package bin, 4 s were usually spent performing that task.
