Only mean carcass weight was significantly lower for the pigs belonging to batches with a lung lesion score higher than 25% (Table 2).
3.3. Meat quality
A statistically significant lower pHi was found in the LD muscle of pigs belonging to the batches scoring more than 25% lung lesions. This is in combination with a significant higher PQMi value indicative for about a six fold increase of PSE risk (Table 2).
