Keep in mind muscle balance between joint agonists and antagonists when choosing exercise.
For example, testing might reveal that the hamstrings are extremely weak compared with the quadriceps.
The exercise choice may have more movement for the hamstrings to compensate for the imbalance .
Remember,
though, that an athlete needs to spend time on all major muscle groups to insure overall development (2-6,8).
