Our results suggest that the training program was
effective in producing positive changes in work-
station con®guration/posture. Additionally, reduc-
tions in symptom severity (but not symptom
presence) were observed, which may be related to
the improvements in workstation con®guration/

posture. Thus, our results suggest that VDT oce
ergonomics training programs may be effective in
enhancing workstation con®guration/posture, there-
by reducing musculoskeletal symptoms. However,
alternative explanations cannot be ruled out with
certainty. Longer duration follow up may be
necessary to detect statistically signi®cant changes
in the presence of symptoms.
