so, while researching around, i stumbled upon a small mod for stardew valley, which... basically enables multiplayer. if you want to take a look at it yourself, here's the link:
http://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/501/?
with this mod, yes, you can play multiplayer, using hamachi, evolve, tunnge, and sometimes even your normal ip. but setting it up can be kinda hard, so i can try to explain it to you:
first of all, you need to install the mod first. but before that, you have to install a separate mod even further:
https://github.com/ClxS/SMAPI/releases
download the SMAPI-0.40.0.zip, then open it and put the contents (the .exe and the mods folder) in your stardew valley folder, so that they sit in the same place like your StardewValley.exe.
then you download the mod itself, the makeshift multiplayer mod, open the .zip and put the StardewValleyMP-folder inside of it into the mods folder in your stardew valley folder.
then you should port forward the port 24644. if you donÄt know how to do it, take a look at google for this. it also differs from router to router.
sometimes you even have to turn off your firewall, but that's rarely the case.
now, if you and your friend have both installed it like this, one of you needs to be the host (the one who port forwarded, only that one must port forward btw). now, if you start the game using the StardewModdingAPI.exe, you should land in the main menu and if you're in windowed mode, you should also see a console window popped up somewhere. that's normal.
now you have to do this:
1. click on load game
2. choose your savefile you want to use and click on it.
3. a window will open, giving you 3 options: yes, no and cancel.
- as the HOST, you have to click yes, and then click OK on the port forward window. your game will then freeze, maybe it'll seem like it's crashed. don't panic, that's alright. just wait for your friend to join.
- as the client, you wil now have to click no, setting you into client mode, where you have to type in the ip of the host (the hamachi ip or whatever you use), then click OK on the port window.
4. if everything is succesful until now, the host should soon see a window popping up, stating that 1 player has connected. pressing YES on that one will start the game.
4.5. if you're more than 2 guys, the host will have to press NO until the right amount of players is displayed.
