The overall goal was to determine the range of thermal perceptions for human comfort. A multiple regression analysis was conducted to determine the relative importance of temperature and humidity in predicting thermal sensation. Reliability of the RTS was established from the mass quantity of participants that were used during the study. Validity is normally established by comparing one instrument to a similar instrument. However, validity of the RTS was established by comparing temperature and relative humidity to the scale itself in mass quantities. Correlation coefficients were high ranging. The scale has said to be a valuable tool because it correlates highly with ambient temperature and relative humidity. The RTS has been used as a predictor of thermal sensation and is a widely accepted tool.
