They hadn’t realised it at the time, but on July 2nd, Live 8 would be broadcast to over a billion people and Brad Pitt would be standing on stage waving a bottle of One around. Globally televised before we’d even sold a bottle. Thanks Brad.
Gradually our one man and a dog operation started to snowball. It seemed like everyone who heard about our project wanted to help make a difference too. It all seems a bit of a blur since then, but Duncan’s vision has remained clear: to establish the brand in the bottled water sector, and then replicate it in other categories – from grocery products to energy, healthcare, financial services and technology – all raising money for like-for-like humanitarian issues.
Small steps on a very long road. But a road that’s already raised over £10m and changed over 2m people’s lives. Not bad for an idea born out of a few beers in a pub.
