In the present, the design of buildings to resist earthquake load in Thailand has the design provisions according to The Ministerial Regulation No. 49 under the Building Control Act since 1997. Subsequently, the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning has issued the Seismic-resistant Building Design Standards (DPT 1302-52). It was developed based on ASCE Standard: Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures (ASCE 7-05), whereas The Ministerial Regulation No. 49 was based on the 1985 Uniform Building Code (UBC 1985). It should be noted that the methods for calculating seismic load were different. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze and compare the response of reinforced concrete buildings with structural regularities shape including story drift, shear and bending moment from seismic load by method of equivalent static force between two standards by considering size of the buildings in 48x24 and 48x48 at the height 4,8 and 20 story building, which are located on Bangkok and Chiang Mai provinces, are considered. Which found that, the response from DPT 1302-52 has stronger than The Ministerial Regulation No. 49 in all case at Chiang Mai provinces whereas for 4 and 8 story building in Bangkok
