Establish disease surveillance, disease reporting, and best management practices in animal health care as prerequisites for insurance, indemnity, and trade in animals/animal products Early disease reporting and certified use of best management practices in animal health production should become prerequisites for insurance and indemnity rotection, and for marketing of animals and animal products. Specification of best management practices should draw upon updated guidelines for mammals, birds, bees, and aquatic species of the Terrestrial and Aquatic Codes of the International Standards of OIE (2014b).
