Robotic assisted ovarian cancers can be challenging if the patient needs mobiilization of the colon, pararotic-lymph node dissection, and debulking tumor on the diaphragm or liver. However, in this study the authors state that rotating the operating table and redocking the robot will allow for work in all four quadrants. Currently there is a randomized trial at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona comparing the traditional laparoscopic radical hysterectomy to the new robot assisted radical hysterectomy ; no results are available at this time.
