Limitations & further requirements for POCT protein detection
The specifications from various commercial and academic
immunoassay lab chips reveal essential features for POCT protein
detection systems. One of the key features is minimal user intervention
such as on-chip sample processing steps from raw patient
samples (e.g. whole blood and saliva) in addition to on-chip
reagents storage, which give the advantage of use by non-laboratory
personnel. It is preferable for the lab chip and analyzer to be
in the simplest form for analysis reproducibility. Thus, it is more
desirable to have automatic fluidic flow such as capillary flow,
which can eliminate on-chip/off-chip pumps and valves and a fluidic
interface between a lab chip and an analyzer
