Stoll steers Kings to victory
LOS ANGELES : Jarret Stoll his first goal of the season two minutes into overtime, and the Los Angeles Kings rallied for a 3-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday in the Freeway Faceoff.
Stoll tapped a slow-sliding puck under Frederik Andersen in the waning seconds of a power play for the defending Stanley Cup champions, who came back from a late deficit in the southern Cali fornia clubs’second entertaining meeting in four gays.
Elsewhere, Brandon Sutter scored in the fourth round of the shoot-out, after the Rangers thought they had won it, and Pittsburgh escaped with a 3-2 victory over New York.
Dan Boyle appeared to win it for the Rangers in the third round, but his goal was then disallowed after a video review showed he hit the puck a second time on a rebound. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped Rick Nash to end the game forrr good.
Sidney Crosby failed to record a point in his fifth straight game against New York, but scored in the shootout. Derek Stepan had the lone shoot-out goal for the Rangers.
