Understand that you have an agreement with the travel agent. Even if you can't deny the booking, is there a way that you could get back to them at a later time tomorrow, so this will give me more time to sort things out with them directly?
I cannot tell you how terribly upset as this birthday celebration holiday is now nothing more than a total rip off.
I honestly don't know how they can justify charging us this amount for two nights stay at your most basic rooms - sales method definitely a problem as we were more expensive packages at lower star hotels before we settled to pick you. Perhaps you could take that into consideration when you renew your partnership with them next time- as I'm sure the money we paid will not go to your hotel and I'm talking about a price difference of several hundred USD.
For now, it would be good to know if you can defer getting back to the travel agent to tomorrow.
