Investigated authentic red wines were produced in Murfatlar
vineyard, Dobrogea region, Romania, a vineyard with favorable climate
and soil conditions. The continental climate with hot and dry
summers, moderate winters, early springs and late autumns,
induce longer wine vegetation, that allows production of
high-quality grapes on the hilly terrains situated between the
Danube River and the Black Sea. The studied area is characterized
by a favorable climate for grape cultivation, with moderate temperatures,
sunshine and rainfall occurring in summer. Some information
about the viticulture climate for the region during ripening
is shown in the Supporting information (Table S1). No irrigation
was applied to the area during the course of this study.
