The portable residual stress diffractometer has been developed following the principle of high portability, easy of use, low weight, high performances and negligible emission.
The result is a compact and smart instrument, based on a low power X-ray tube (only 4 W) and a fast and highly efficient detector, the combination of which ensures accurate and fast measurements. The head of the goniometer (tube + detector) rotates along a curved sector of 90 degrees, for the determination of the stress status of the material.
A small anthropomorphic arm allows 6 degrees of freedom (three translations and three orientations) ensuring the necessary rigidity. A laser beam is used for the correct positioning of the goniometer in combination with a micrometric screw.
It doesn’t need chiller and works with a battery.
