For these reasons, dead biomass becomes a more suitable biosorbent for copper. A great advantage of using dead biomass is the possibility of its immobilisation in solid structures, which makes a material with the right size, mechanical strength, rigidity and porosity necessary for use in sorption columns. Results achieved during desorption study have confirmed the possibility to remove metal from biomass and regenerate and reuse biosorbent again. It is possible to obtain highly concentrated metal solution and subsequently recover metal by hydrometallurgical processes from this solution.
