Wat Keschaiyo (Wat Chaiyo Worawihan) Ang Thong (Anthong) Province, Thailand.
Wat Keschaiyo may have been in existence for hundreds of years - even earlier than Wat Rakang. But the progressive years have also seen this famous Thai temple (WAT) changed in its overall look. Just like Wat Rakang, most of the premises now you seen are newer (with a school annexed nearby). However, behind the "Viham" (something explained as The Main Buddhist worship Hall) is of smaller scale as compared to the new struture, the old-style Viham which was very well preserved in its original historical form. The artful wall paintings and other settings possibly went through some stages of restoration, but architectural & statues arrangement resembles closely with current Wat Rakang arrangement. Frankly, restoration of old Thai temples with historical values can be a tedious process and requires supervision from the Buddhist council in Thailand. I am quite happy to see the changes...but it should be retained more of the old-styles. DON'T miss this spot if you are there as every corners of this small confined area is HISTORY ! This page reveals the older premises and the following pages will show the current state of the temple internal and externally.
old and very scarce .
