Conclusion
This paper develops an understanding of ISA that incorporates
CSH theory and practice. CSH recognizes the importance of
holistic thinking while simultaneously championing diverse
perspectives within a given system. When applied to complex
problems, ISA has demonstrated use. However, CSH helps ISA
address power differences between various collaborating agents
and levels the playing field through reflexive and non-judgemental
dialogue. Canadian public health agencies have an opportunity to
use CSH to build democratic agendas for ISA. Incorporating
diverse interests devoted to a shared goal will help mitigate and
adapt to climate change while also pursuing goals related to health
equity.
