Manchester United could secure £30million-rated midfield transfer target Arturo Vidal on a pay-as-you-play deal.
Juventus are asking for their full valuation of the Chile World Cup star, with United unwilling to pay such a high fee for a player with ongoing injury issues.
Vidal, who underwent knee surgery earlier in the year, has not finished a game for Juventus since March and did not complete 90 minutes for Chile in Brazil, which is why United are wary of paying the full asking price.
One potential solution being explored, according to senior United sources, is an incentive-based deal structured to reward Vidal every time he plays a certain amount of minutes or games for them.
United would pay Juventus a lesser transfer fee for Vidal and the player a basic salary, but there would be clauses inserted in the deal to pay the Italian club and midfielder more upon their fulfilment.
