Recognizing the significance of the Open Access Repositories
(OAR) in the scholarly world, an increasing number of subject
and interdisciplinary repositories were created and maintained
by universities, research institutions, associations, organizations,
etc. at national and international levels. Accordingly, a good
number of repositories are available in the field of the Library and
Information Science (LIS). Library and Information Science is a
discipline of great importance having an immense effect in the
information and knowledge management. Therefore, the current
study endeavors to highlight the status of the OA repositories
globally in the field of the Library and Information Science as per
the selected parameters.
