Phases I to III of the Stetler model were then revisited to
consider an educational project that would support this policy
change. A second literature review was undertaken to identify
best practice related to flushing technique of CVADs as well as
educational strategies for nurses. This action reflects the fluidity
of the Stetler model (Melnyk, 2005). The fourth phase
of the Stetler model involves the translation of findings and
application to practice, corresponding to the implementation
phase of the EBP change project. Evaluation of the effectiveness
of this project comprised the fifth and final phase of the
Stetler Model.
