The specimens were then dried using an infrared lamp
to speed up the sample drying time. Afterwards, samples were sealed
in the sample holder of the equipment for WDXRF analysis. To ensure
the homogeneity of the resulting dried residue for quantitation
purposes, the dried residue formed for standards and samples
(approximately 1.8 cm2) was within the irradiated area (approximately
8 cm2). Therefore, the entire standard/sample mounted on the
film was completely exposed to the X-ray beam.
