After 15 years’ service and nine years as CEO, Michael Byrne has decided to pursue
new opportunities outside Linfox.
Michael will leave Linfox on 24 December this year and he will work closely with all of
us to ensure a smooth transition of the business and to ensure we continue to lead
our industry in safety, innovation and strategic business growth.
Michael has discussed this decision with me, the family and the Board and in the
coming months he will focus a considerable amount of his knowledge and expertise
on helping to develop Linfox Logistics’ new five-year strategy for the Board. Linfox is
in an ideal position to formulate its new strategy for growth as a leading supply chain
services provider across the Asia Pacific.
I want to thank Michael for his tremendous commitment and dedication to Linfox
Logistics. He has led the business through a period of unparalleled business growth
which has also seen massive improvements in safety, the establishment of an
industry leading sustainability program, a wide range of educational opportunities for
our people, key advances in our IT capability and a sharpened focus on strategic
partnerships with our customers across the Asia Pacific.
We will continue to benefit from Michael’s commitment and skills for the remainder of
the year and wish him well for his future career.
Some changes to our business structure will be made in the coming months including
the appointment of our new CEO Asia, Gabby Costigan, which I will announce later
today. I am also working with Michael and the Board on other changes to our
Australian and New Zealand structure and these will be implemented before the end
of the year.
We will conduct an exhaustive process to appoint a new CEO Linfox Logistics with
