Table 2 shows the data of irradiation and ozonation of the Yazd-baf-1 sample.
In the case of Reactor-1, the efficiency of the reactor would be assumed to be 67% regardless of the variation of the accelerator current effects.
Since the wastewater flowrate was 50 l/min and the accelerator current was 2mA,taking the efficiency of 0.67 as obtained in this work, the effective absorbed dose would be about 16 kGy.
According to the results, ozone treatment can enhance discoloration(calculated according to the change of absorbency of UV–v is spectra at the wave length of 500 nm)of textile wastewater and,as mentioned before, since ozone is pro- duced during wastewater irradiation, textile wastewater treatment can be enhanced via a suitable design of the irradiation reactor system.
The pH values reduced during irradiation and ozonation process and, for this sample, COD reduction was observed during irradiation.
However, discoloration of raw textile wastewater during EB irradiation is not desirable even with such a high ab- sorbed dose.
This observation is reasonable because as experi- mentally evidences of this work have shown (Table 3)
