Hope For Paws received a call about a small stray dog who needed our help. We approached slowly with cheeseburgers. The mom had run away, so we left to give her time to return to her puppies. When we came back, we attempted to block the trench from both sides. With three puppies lives hanging in the balance, we had to move quickly. Lisa Chiarell placed my Lucky Leash around her and named her Dottie. The first puppy, a girl we named Ivy. The second puppy: A boy we named Timon. And the third puppy: A boy we named Pumbaa. We rushed to hospital so we could get Ivy examined right away. The doctor confirmed that Ivy had severe hydrocephalus (Fluid in the brain). Because Ivy was in agonizing pain, we had to put her to sleep. Heartbroken, Dottie snuggled with he baby on last time. Rest in peace sweet Ivy. Later on, Lisa and I took Dottie, Timon and Pumbaa to their foster home.
