3. y and z Based on SophisticatedMethods
Sophisticated methods are derived based on Taylor’s (1921) theory. However, this
theory requires exact knowledge of the behaviour of the Langrangian autocorrelation,
R() at different times which is most often very difficult to obtain. Several
methods have been suggested for the determination of y and z which do not
