Adaptive Exercise Machine Control for Persons with Disabilities. The aim of the project presented in this thesis is to develop computer control technologies to make strength training exercise equipment readily adaptable for use by people with disabilities. Most of the exercise equipment currently available in the market is designed without any consideration for disabled people. The three factors listed below are the major obstacles for disabled people from using such equipment: 1) equipment do not have capabilities for very low speed, low resistance and low range of motion, 2) they lack finer adjustable motor control in terms of speed and force such
