For this study, we used the Attitudes to Ageing Questionnaire
(WHO AAQ), both 24 items of a personal form (the validated
24-item AAQ measure) and 12 items of a general form that were
originally part of the 38-item field version of AAQ. 24 items
investigating personal experience with ageing together with 12
items (AAQ–12) about general attitudes were administered to
220 residents in Senior Residential Homes. Staff working in
Homes (N=276) completed AAQ–12. These data were used for
the comparison of the staff attitudes to the attitudes of residents.
AAQ–24 was administered in the second wave of data collection
to 180 residents of Senior Residential Homes.
