“My philosophy was to hire a smaller team of higher-quality people,” Nappi said. “We looked for both breadth and depth-a person who could do the work of three people, not because they worked three times as long but because they worked smart. “For example, Nappi hired a software engineer comfortable with creating such a new product and a technical architect experienced in creating large-scale systems used by multiple users simultaneously. Besides hiring for solid experience and imagination, Nappi also looked for people who were committed to building a company. “That way, we’d be making technical decisions that were committed to building a company. “That way, we’d be making technical decisions that were informed strategically,” Nappi said
