As it was mentioned earlier, Kara-Zhorga was not widely practiced in Kazakhstan during Soviet time and started its revival since independence in 1990’s till present time. In regards to cultural policy of Kazakhstani government the element became widely popularized in all regions of Kazakhstan, extending it to international exhibitions, concerts and other high-ranking cultural events.
First of all, elements of Kara-Zhorga folk dance recorded by A.Ismailov and other researchers were included in formal and non-formal art education of ballet dancers, folk dancers and amateur dancing groups. The sketches and records were incorporated in textbooks and curricula of the students of specialized choreographic and arts universities and gymnasiums/
In recent years Government of Kazakhstan encourages wide promotion of folk dance Kara Zhorga on national and international levels providing wide media coverage. These measures include: performance of Kara-Zhorga on state concerts and celebrations, production of documentaries and videos on the element, organization of exhibitions and concerts in Kazakhstan and abroad. Due to the fact that younger generation of Kazakhstan demonstrates high interest in Kara-Zhorga, government actively attracts youngsters from kindergarten to universities in popularizing good will and friendly spirit of this intangible cultural heritage. Many universities across the country organized a series of public concerts, flash mobs with performance of Kara-Zhorga an many kinder gardens teach children how to dance Kara-Zhorga as part of daily physical training. In regards to these activities, element’s friendly appeal and positive, energetic spirit, it contributes to dialogue of generations, cultural and spiritual enrichment in Kazakhstani society.
