Dear Daikin,
I am writing to lodge a formal complaint and claim for compensation regarding the Daikin VRV units I have installed at my villa, Lime Samui Villa 2, Koh Samui.
Twice in the last year the units have malfunctioned because of circuit boards short circuiting due to Gecko’s getting into the unit housing and behind the circuit boards.
These units are correctly installed and maintained in a clean service yard.
As you are supplying these units for use in a tropical environment you must be fully aware of animals which could enter the housing and do such damage so I therefore claim compensation due to the housings being NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.
I have attached a copy of the serial plate from one of the units, a picture of a Gecko in the circuit board and one of the two invoices paid to yourselves for the repairs.
SVH – Could you please supply the invoice for the repairs in July last year? TIA.
I would ask you to reimburse me for the two invoices as full and final settlement of this claim.
I have incurred significant costs in relation to these failures, including, but not limited to, time spent by myself and staff of the management company (Samui Villas & Homes (SVH), copied), actual call out costs of maintenance teams, loss of earnings as this is a rental villa which rents for between $1350-$2200++ per night, and to construct a protective cage around the units to prevent this happening again.
If you reimburse me for the two invoices paid to Daikin (July 2014 & June 2015) I will absorb all of the other costs myself.
