Nowadays, the conventional vapor compression refrigerators have been mainly used for refrigeration applications. Nevertheless, the conventional refrigerators based on gas compression and expansion are not very efficient. In addition, using gases such as Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) are dangerous and harmful to our environment. Lately, the progress in new technology of the refrigerator such as the magnetic refrigeration is another choice of the conventional gas compression technique.
The magnetic refrigeration at room temperature was first discovered by Warburg in 1881, the magnetocaloric effect. Magnetocaloric effect is the change of temperature, the temperature increased when we brought the iron sample into magnetic field and decreased when it was removed out. The magnetocaloric effect is a property of magnetic materials such as transition metals and lanthanide-series elements have been called magnetocaloric materials.
Some benefits of the magnetic refrigeration are green technology with no toxic gas emission, noiseless technology and it give more efficiency energy.
