Amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) analysis
is a powerful molecular technique combining a
restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) assay
and DNA amplification via the polymerase chain
reaction (PCR) [32]. Hundreds of genomic markers can
be generated from the assay’s restriction enzyme digest
and two rounds of fragment amplification via PCR
[32,33]. The AFLP method provides a multi-locus
approach and may overcome problems in phylogenetic
