3.3. Package performance
The package performance was evaluated by comparing the
amount of water loss by mushrooms, water absorbed by the tray,
water transmitted out of the tray and water vapour condensed
inside the tray (Fig. 7). The total water loss of mushrooms in
humidity-regulating tray was almost double compared to mushrooms
packed in the control tray. The lower water loss from
mushrooms the control tray could be attributed to the high RH
(100%) inside the package. Water loss increases with the increase in
