1. Clean all the soil off your tools before you put them away.

3. Wipe metal blades with a little oil every time use them.
4. Neatly coil away cables and hoses, checking for kinks as you go.
5. Clean pots and stack them by size and shape-they'll take up less space.
6. Hooks are ideal to hang tools out of the way but close hand.
7. Rub linseed oil into the shafts of garden tools to preserve them.
8. Sharpen blades before putting away secateurs tend to blunt the quickest.
9. Tie canes in a bundle, in length order and stack them.
10. Always store weed- killer and other potentially dangerous chemicals out of the reach of animals and children.
