Due to battery depletion, the performances of stand-alone
PAs such as output power and efficiency are degraded due to
the fact that they are directly coupled to the battery. The
adopted design solution is to combine the two presented
techniques to obtain better performances in comparison with a
single PA at power back-off and solve the problem of battery
depletion. Thereby, an architecture which allows to implement
ET & PTS techniques has been proposed and is detailed in the
following parts.
