The objective of this study was to evaluate the antioxidant
activity of a specific green tea (containing selenium) extract and
its potential to act as a prebiotic to enhance the viability and
growth of beneficial lactic acid bacteria using both pure and mixed
bacterial cultures under in vitro conditions. In addition, the effects
of sodium (Na) selenite and Na-selenate on the growth of Lactobacillus
rhamnosus were investigated when added alone or in combination
