In the gamma-ray experiment, a vertical arrangement was established.
A steel stand was made to hold the detector and its surrounding
lead shielding blocks. Fig. 1 shows a schematic of the
experimental setup for measuring the attenuation of gamma-ray using
our metallic foam engineered samples, in which the geometry
arrangement ensures narrow beam transmission. Measurements
were conducted for bulk Aluminum samples, Al foam samples,
and Al foam samples filled with liquid. Samples were placed in a plastic container for the liquid-filled set up and all other samples were also placed in identical plastic containers to provide same
geometry standards.
