The noninferiority criterion for the comparison of OPA GMTs was met by 10 of 13 pneumococcal serotypes (lower limit of 95% CI of GMT ratio >0.5) (Table 1). The exceptions were serotypes 4,7F, and 9V all of which had lower limits of the 95% CI just below 0.5 (0.47,0.47, and 0.42, respectively).
OPA GMTs were lower after PCV13 + TIV than after PCV13 administered alone for 12 serotypes.
A statistically significantly lower response (95% CI of GMT ratio did not include 1) between groups was observed only for serotype 4. This is in contrast to statistically lower serotype-specific
anti-polysaccharide IgG binding responses for 6 of 13 serotypes
