Breadfruit was randomly selected and bought from the
local open markets in the Brunei-Muara District of Brunei
Darussalam. The inedible parts of the fruit (skin and core)
were separated from the rest of the fruit, and the skin was
oven dried at 80 C until a constant mass was obtained.
Particle sizes between 355 and 850 lm were obtained
through blending and sieving of the dried sample. Prior to
use, the sieved sample was thoroughly mixed to ensure
uniformity. All experiments were carried out in duplicate/
triplicate keeping a consistent solid to dye solution ratio of
1:500. All experiments were carried out at ambient temperature
using an orbital shaker set at 250 rpm, unless
otherwise stated. Filtration of dye solution from the biosorbent
was carried out using a metal sieve.
