The Office of Hajj Affairs of Thailand says a Thai woman was killed and two other Thai pilgrims are missing in a crane collapse at Mecca’s Grand Mosque on Friday night, in addition to two reported injured in earlier statements.
Earlier statements by the office had said only two Thai Muslim pilgrims were injured in the incident.
The third statement, issued on Friday, stated officials from the Office of the Hajj Affairs of Thailand and the Thai Consulate in Jeddah conducted futher checks of information on casualties from the incident at hospitals in Mecca and found that one Thai pilgrim was killed and two are still missing.
he Office of Hajj Affairs of Thailand in Mecca will contact her relatives and the Saudi authorities for burial details and the issuing of a death certificate, the statement said.
