Basic wavelet de-noising generally employs the discrete wavelet transform (DWT), which offers the typical advan-
tages of non-redundant transforms: compression and effi-
ciency of implementation. Redundant transforms, on the contrary, do not offer such advantages, but they have cer-
tain statistical properties that can provide great improve-
ments when applied to de-noising [6-8].
